What is a Jellystone
Park?
Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park is a top-rated national franchise system of
resort campgrounds, providing lodging, campsites, amenities and activities
for families with children. Jellystone Park is also home to two loveable
bears known to millions of cartoon viewers: Yogi Bear™ and Boo Boo™. There are
almost 70 Jellystone Parks across the United States, each individually
owned and operated. This website is dedicated to the Jellystone Park in
New York's Catskill Mountains, owned and operated by the Zalkin Family for
three generations.
Why Vacation at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park?
Maybe you've visited the United States for a theme park vacation with your
family, and enjoyed it. Now perhaps it's time to discover an enjoyable
piece of the real America: New York camping at its finest. At Jellystone
Park, you can stay in our deluxe lodges, while using our extensive
facilities and activities program. Unlike motels and hotels, our lodges
are spacious, comfortable units, with a private bedroom for Mom and Dad, a
fun upstairs loft for the kids, and full kitchen and bathroom, in a wooded
resort setting. Unlike motel or hotel vacations, where guests tend to keep
to themselves, at Jellystone Park you'll get to know friendly Americans
from all walks of life. Your children will make friends with other
children, and have the time of their lives. The whole family will take
home great New York camping memories.
How easy is
it to reserve a Jellystone Park Vacation?
Very. To ask general questions,
click here. To reserve a deluxe
lodge (or trailer, cabin or campsite), call us directly from overseas at 845-434-4743
(in the U.S. only, call toll-free at 800-552-4724),
or e-mail us your telephone number in the U.K. or Ireland, and we'll call
you! Alternatively,
click here to email your reservation request to us. We'll check availability, take down your information, and accept your
reservation deposit via credit card (Amex, MC, or Visa). We'll mail you a
written confirmation.
What about Getting There? Isn't it Complicated?
Not at all. Here's how!

AIRLINES.
We recommend United Airlines, which
flies directly from London (Gatwick), Glasgow, Manchester, Dublin, and
other cities, to Newark Airport in northern New Jersey. You can access
United's UK web site at
www.united.com/uk. Other airlines may be
convenient for you as well. We recommend flying into Newark, as
opposed to Kennedy or LaGuardia Airports, because it avoids you having to
drive directly through New York City. Newark is one of the three major New
York area airports, a major international gateway.
AUTO
RENTAL.
At the Newark Airport website,
www.newarkairport.com, the first pop-down
menu, "Getting to and from EWR (Newark)", has a "Rental Cars" option. If
you use this, the top of the page will show you the five Rental Car
companies with locations on airport property: Hertz, Avis, Budget, Dollar,
and National. You can access their U.S. websites by clicking on the
company name or icon below.
More easily, you can access the UK websites for all of these auto rental
companies below:
AIRPORT.
Traveling to the New York state campgrounds has just been made easier.
Once you get to Newark Airport, you collect your bags and take
the airport's monorail directly to the car rental agencies. The same
Newark Airport Car Rentals page mentioned above shows how you take the
airport Auto Train directly from the Airline Terminals to the Car Rental
Agencies.
DRIVING.
Once you have your rental car, we are 100 miles (160 kilometers) from
Newark Airport, a 2 hour drive.

Newark Airport to Jellystone Park.
That's all it takes to get to Jellystone Park!
What do I need to bring for a stay in a deluxe rental?
For a stay in a deluxe lodge or luxury trailer, visitors from the United
States bring their own bedding, towels, pots and pans and food. To make
New York camping life easier for our UK guests, we have lodging kits ready for you, with
most of the essentials of vacation life not already in the rentals. The cost of this kit,
available for UK guests only, is a reasonable, one-time charge of $150.
When you reserve, please specify that you would like a lodging kit.

about our lodging kits.
Jellystone Park guests mostly do their own cooking. Our Catskill Mountains
campground has a convenience
store with a number of basic items. For major food purchases, there are
large supermarkets only 15 minutes away. For almost any other item, a
super Walmart store and Home Depot are located only 20 minutes from Jellystone Park.
For those who do not wish to cook as much, Jellystone Park has a snack bar
with breakfast, lunch and in-between items. There are a number of
reasonably-priced, casual and delicious restaurants 5-20 minutes from
Jellystone Park.
As to non-lodging items, a bathing suit is a must in summer. Good walking
shoes will help, and so will a light jacket or sweater. Everything at
Jellystone Park, and in the Catskill mountains, is casual-for example,
shorts are okay in any restaurant throughout the area.
What are the best dates for a Jellystone
Park vacation? Are there minimum
stays?
We recommend a weeklong stay
in a deluxe lodge during our high season, which runs from the last week
of June through our Labor Day (the first Monday in September). During
that time, all of our pools are open, and activities take place daily,
from 9 am to 9 pm.
Jellystone Park is also open spring and fall, when you may reserve a
rental for two nights or more, any time in advance. We open May 1st, and
close the second Monday in October. From late May on, our pools are open.
In fall, you can enjoy the colors of fall foliage, and nearby apple and
pumpkin picking. It's hard to beat camping in New York.
